
MEC partnered with CNBC to create the most up-to-date study
on CEOs in Asia. The qualitative study which was conducted in 2012 cut across Singapore, India, China and
Hong Kong with a total of 32 in-depth interviews on how CEOs of MNCs view and
use digital technologies. With the exception of GuanXi which played an important role in how Chinese CEOs conduct
businesses, there has been few differences observed across the markets - these
are very global and well-travelled leaders after all.

So here are the do’s and don’ts when communicating to the
CEOs:

Do expect that CEOs will read /
consume content themselves (not filtered by PAs or staff)

Do make everything accessible on an
iPad / tablet du jour

Don’t expect CEOs to connect to social
activations

Don’t assume that CEOs will reject any
brand communications

Do challenge / compete with CEOs
