39 million blind people worldwide live in darkness: 90% of them live in third world countries but 90% of us in developed countries turn away when asked for help. 'Orbis Don’t Look Away’ was created, an emotional, interactive web experience.
Using eye detection technology on a webcam, it demonstrates the importance of paying attention to the campaign message, and show how the simple act of ‘not looking away’ can dramatically improve a life. When the user looked away, the screen turned to darkness. But when the user made eye-contact with the screen, the darkness disappeared allowing viewers to see the world through the eyes of a young patient seeing for the first time after eye surgery.
Viewers were then taken to a donation and share page to help the cause.
