MEC and Wired: Mind The Gap

In this month's issue, WIRED explores how home delivery is back, and it’s a smarter, more efficient, mobile-driven process. Every service and product that we can conceive is shifting towards an on-demand model (if it hasn't reached it already), all of which is made possible by the always-connected hardware and software we carry (e.g. smartphones and tablets) that know where everyone and everything is, all of the time.

As services and products are increasingly going “live,” we live in an age where consumers have access to almost anything they want at any given time of day. This luxury, becoming increasingly commonplace, revolves around the mobile device, and the software that enables these experiences.

Consumers have been opting in to this on-demand economy with their content, including movies, music and TV shows, for some time now; it’s about time that the retailsector catches on and leverages this consumer behavioral shift to increase opportunities within the ever-evolving path-to-purchase.
