M1 Plays Netball

Telecommunications firm M1 has sponsored a netball competition locally.
The Schools Challenge League provides talented netballers who did not qualify to participate in round two of the inter-schools netball competition, an alternative opportunity to further train and play competitive netball.
This is M1's fifth year sponsoring the event and it aims to provide opportunities for the young, up and coming netballers to hone their competitiveness and talent and enhance their interest in the sport.
The partnership resonates with the telco's corporate values and brand personality to bring more value and make a difference to the community, Ivan Lim, director, corporate communications and investor relations, M1 said.
M1 is also looking to nurture and groom budding talents to become national athletes.
As sponsor, the brand funded the talent identification programme, and an annual road trip to Kuala Lumpur to engage in friendly competition against their Malaysian counterparts.

M1 also funded a range of events and programmes for the primary and secondary school children, as well as netball clubs in Singapore.
The brand promoted the event through internal publicity to M1 staff and customers.
"Ultimately, we hope that netball would be a sport that'll be enjoyed and appreciated not only at schools levels, but also to the mass community. It is an opportunity for more children to continue playing netball throughout the year," Lim said.
The event runs until 30 May at various secondary schools in Singapore.
